Use of this site

 

New South Wales Combined Independent Schools Sports Council Ltd (CIS) operates this Site. Users of this Site (Users) agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions, which are subject to change at CIS’ sole discretion. Your use of and access to this Site indicates your acceptance of these Terms & Conditions, as they exist at that time.

 

General Prohibitions

You must not use this site, or any tools offered through this site, in a manner which; or up-load, post, transmit or otherwise make available through this site any material which:

(a) Violates or infringes the rights of others (including their intellectual property, privacy and publicity rights);

(b) Is unlawful, threatening, abusive, defamatory, invasive of privacy, vulgar, obscene, profane or which may harass or cause distress or inconvenience to, or incite hatred of, any person;

(c) Encourages conduct that would constitute a criminal offence, give rise to civil liability or otherwise violate any law;

(d) Restricts or inhibits any other user from using or enjoying this site;

(e) Affects the functionality or operation of this site or its servers or the functionality or operation of any user’s computer systems (for example, by transmitting a computer virus or other harmful component, whether or not knowingly); or

(f) Breaches any standards, content requirements or codes promulgated by any relevant authority, including authorities which require us to take remedial action under any applicable industry code.

 

Stakeholders

1.Nominating Teachers

I have obtained approval from the principal for the nominated student to attend the CIS trial.

Both principal and parent /guardian have been made aware of the following:

  1. If selected in the CIS Team there may be additional events / championships the student will be required to attend.   These dates have been made available and are on the CIS website
  2. If selected in CIS or PSSA / All School Teams there will be associated costs including entry fees / levies / uniform etc
  3. There is an inherent amount of risk involved with participation in sporting activities and parents have been referred to the risk waiver on the CIS website.
  4. CIS does not carry insurance for students and schools and parents are advised to take out cover

2. Convenors, CIS Team Staff – Coaches, Managers etc; Committees

  1. Have read the following policies and guidelines under Handbook on the CIS website HERE:

  3. Work Health and Safety
  4. Unlawful discrimination, Harassment and Bullying Statement
  5. Convenor, Coach and Manager Responsibilities

3. Parent/ Guardian

I acknowledge the following

  • It is my responsibility to maintain up to date membership details using my son/daughter’s Unique CIS ID and Password.
  • there is a Nomination Fee of $26.17 for my son/daughter to attend the CIS Trial which will be invoiced via the sports association and school.
  • on completion of this nomination my son/daughter is expected to attend the trial unless contacted by CIS and told otherwise.  Should they be unable to participate after the nomination has been submitted the convenor/CIS must be contacted prior to the trial.  “No shows” will be charged.
  • if selected in the CIS Team there will be additional costs - uniform and a team member levy, covering costs of competing at the next level.  This will vary from sport to sport.
  • I have read the risk warning regarding participation in sporting activities loaded on the CIS website.
  • CIS does not have insurance cover for students participating in CIS activities.
  • I have read and agree to abide by the Codes of Conduct under Handbook on the CIS website that apply to players and spectators at all levels of competition from CIS Trials through to PSSA, NSW All Schools and SSA Competitions. 
  • I acknowledge my child has been nominated by a Teacher from my school in accordance with CIS policies.
  • I am aware of and have read the  information regarding Permission to Publish Student information, in the CIS Privacy Policy.

4. Schools

The school named applies to become a member of New South Wales Combined Independent Schools Sports Council Limited (CIS) and agrees to abide by its constitution and acknowledges the following:

  • The principal is the official representative of the school, for CIS purposes. 
  • NSW CISSC may access the database of the Association of Independent Schools of NSW to obtain the required information relating to the School for the purposes of conducting sporting competitions.
  • School employees officially appointed as a coach or manager of a CIS team, are, when endorsed by the school, acting in this capacity, as an employee of the school.
  • Participation in all sporting activities involves inherent risk; this school has accessed the risk waiver found on the CIS website and fully understands and accepts the inherent risks associated with our students when involved in CIS sporting activities.

CIS May Change These Terms and Conditions

CIS may, in its absolute discretion modify or amend the terms and conditions upon which services are supplied to you including these terms of use and such modifications will be binding upon you once displayed on this web site. You should regularly check the terms and conditions displayed on this web site.

 

What Law Governs these Terms and Conditions?

This Agreement is governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of New South Wales, Australia and you irrevocably submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in that State.

 

 

Intellectual Property

All intellectual property in relation to content on this Site belongs to CIS or its licensors or affiliates. You obtain no interest in that intellectual property. All content on this Site is protected by Australian and international copyright and other intellectual property laws. You may not do anything which interferes with or breaches those laws or the intellectual property rights in the content.

 

You may download and view content or print a copy of material on this Site for educational, non-commercial use provided you do not modify the content in any way (including any copyright notice). All rights not expressly granted under these terms of use are reserved by CIS.

 

 

Links and Third Party Materials

This website may provide links to other websites that are not owned or controlled by CIS. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of other websites. Consult the privacy statement of each website you visit. Links to other websites do not constitute or imply endorsement by CIS of those sites, the information they contain, or any products or services they describe. You acknowledge that any third party materials appearing on this site are not necessarily controlled or monitored by us and that the views expressed are not necessarily ours.

 

Co-operation with Authorities

We reserve the right to co-operate fully with any law enforcement authority in any jurisdiction in respect of a lawful direction or request to disclose the identity or other information about anyone posting materials which the authority claims violates any applicable law.

 

 

Access, Correction, and Data Integrity

Although we attempt to ensure the integrity and accurateness of the website, we make no guarantees as to its correctness or accuracy. It is possible that the website could include typographical errors, inaccuracies, or other errors, and that unauthorised additions, deletions, and alterations could be made to the website by third parties. In the event that an inaccuracy arises, please inform us so that it can be corrected.

 

Security

The application, registration and self-service screens of the site are protected by SSL encryption to help ensure the integrity and confidentiality of information passed between your browser and our server. However, you must assist in maintaining the security of your information by protecting your password and having adequate anti-virus software and firewalls installed on your computer.

We strongly recommend that you:

• create strong passwords including both alpha, numeric, an Upper Case letter, and a special character (!@#$%^&*();

• do not use common dictionary words or names of family members or pets;

• keep your password secure and protected;

• keep only one record of your password;

• do not tell any unauthorised person your password;

• do not allow any unauthorised person to watch you login to the site or hear your password.

 

 

Payments

CIS Events

CIS reserves the right to alter any of the arrangements for events this may include postponing or cancelling an event.

 

If you contact CIS or the convenor and withdraw from an event over 24 hours prior to the event, you will not be charged the nomination fee. No shows on the day of the event will forfeit their nomination fee.

All nominees to each CIS Sport will be charged a nomination Fee via their school and sports Association. Invoices will be forwarded to Associations for distribution at the end of each term.

CIS Teams

Members of Teams will be required to register online, purchase uniform where applicable and pay a levy.

 

The levy

Covers costs associated with competing at the next level. The system will send you an invoice on receipt of payment.

 

Where a student withdraws from a CIS Team due to illness or injury and has a medical certificate from a verified medical practitioner, the team member levy will be refunded.

 

For sports where flights and accommodation costs are included in the levy, the refund may not be in full.

 

Uniform

Purchases all uniform orders will be placed and paid for online. There will be additionally charges for orders that are not placed by the due date.

 

Returns - Where a student withdraws (injury) and the uniform has not been worn (as new) items can be returned and a refund given. 

Exchanges – Sizing information will be available on the website, should a student need to exchange an item there will be a $25 charge to cover administrative and delivery costs.

Faulty – Any items that are found to be faulty will be replaced.

 

Major Events – Swimming , Athletics, Cross Country
Selected CIS Team members are expected to register, pay the levy and purchase uniform on the day.

 

Refunds and payments will be made within 14 days.
