This is an Inter-Association Championship

Age

Divisions for able bodied competitors are:

8 years, 9 years, 10 years, 11 years, 12 years, 13 years
Junior: 8 years, 9 years, 10 years
Senior: 11 years, 12 years, 13 years.

A competitor whose significant birthday occurs during the current year is eligible for that age event only. No competitor shall enter both junior and senior events, nor in two age events, including relays.

Events
The following Primary Events will be held all ages are as at 31/12/yoc  (year of competition)

TRACK EVENTS
100m - 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 & 13 Years
200m, 800m & 1500m  - Junior, 11, 12/13 Years
4 x 100m Relay - Junior, Senior, Small School

Para Athlete - 100m, 200m, & 800m Ambulant

Timed Final Events -  100, 200, Relays, 800 and 1500 - Races will be seeded fastest to slowest.

Track events take precedence over field events.

FIELD EVENTS
Shot Put – Junior (2kg), 11 Years (2kg), 12/13 Years (3kg)
Discus – Junior (500gms), 11 Years (750gms), 12/13 Years (750gms)
Long Jump, High Jump - Junior, 11 Years, 12/13 Years
Para Athlete - Shot Put, Discus, Long Jump – 8-10 years, 11-13 Years;

Throws and Long Jump - All competitors will receive 3 throws or Jumps.

Track events take precedence over field events.

Primary Specifications

Multi-Class (MC) Competitors 
All entered Para Athletes must have a current valid classification- see Athletics Australia Mastersheet or Sport Inclusion Australia.   

 Age Groups -  Junior: 8-10 Years  & Senior: 11 - 13 Years.

Parking
Parking $18 a day with a validated ticket. Ticket validation available at reception.

Gates and Entry- Via the front or back gates from 7:30 am. Nomination Fee includes entry.

First Aid
There is a First Aid Room at Sydney Olympic Park Athletic Centre and an attendant will be present throughout the day.
The First Aid room is under grandstand at end of 100m track.

Students who use asthma puffers or Epi-Pens should have them at the Championships.

Dress and Footwear
Association Athletic Singlet must be worn.

All competitors must wear footwear. Spiked shoes are only permitted in 100m, 200m, Relays, Long Jump and High Jump events. Spikes are not permitted in 800m or 1500m events.

When spiked shoes are worn the maximum length for all track events and Long Jump is 7mm. For High Jump it is 9mm.

Athletes wearing spiked shoes MUST use starting blocks, supplied by SOPAC only.  Athletes will not be permitted to do a crouch start without blocks nor will they be able to do a standing start.

All competitors and officials are advised to bring cap, sunscreen, and water bottle with them.

Food & Drink
A canteen will be available at the venue.

Wet Weather
The CIS Primary Athletics Championships will be held regardless of the weather. Some events may be delayed or cancelled at the discretion of the Primary Athletics Committee if the nature of the event causes safety concerns in the rain.

CIS Primary Athletics Team
Generally athletes gaining first, second or third places at the CIS Primary Athletics Championships will be selected in the NSWCIS Primary Athletics Team to compete at the NSWPSSA Championships. These students are required to report to the Uniform Room to register, pay the levy and purchase uniform. 
Athletes placing 4th in an event are reserves for the CIS Team and should ensure they are a member of Primary Athletics on the CIS website, so they can be contacted easily if called up into the team.
